I have just had an epiphany in the last few days and have decided I want to go the direct entry route rather than CNM. (so recent that my signature still hasn't been changed! ) I have been speaking to a few midwives in town and the midwife I used for my birth didn't feel it was necessary to go through an actual structured distance learning program to get the book learning done. There are plenty of midwives in town that I should be able to apprentice with when the time comes so I am thinking I can do a more self guided approach.

But, I am having a hard time figuring out exactly where to start. I have lists and lists of books but I want to structure my learning somehow. Any suggestions for how to do this? Or if you really feel like a structured distance learning program is essential, can you recommend one and why?
