Actually, the way I read it, the medical pathway is only for MDs and DOs. Honestly, that is ridiculous. Why should a physician be required to do fewer clinical hours (900 vs 2500 hours!) than other health professionals when there is virtually no lactation training in the average med school/residency curriculum?

I can actually answer this one for myself. They want to encourage MDs to get certified. But it really makes me feel :.
