This website is evil, but ever so funny:

This is one of my favorite name sites! I especially love the forums.

I found that site while expecting dd, and spent waaaaay too much time on the computer snickering at stuff on there. It doesn't look like it's been updated much though....I know nothing about the forums. Didn't even know there were forums, LOL!

I love the section "Baby names or blotter acid" : Too funny! Thanks for sharing!

I'm sorry I'm going to be the annoying downer who can't take a joke, but man I find that site horribly offensive! Somebody actually sat down to be mean to, make fun of, & be obnoxiously judgmental towards a bunch of innocent parents just trying to name their kids! Laughing at others being mean to people is just not my cup of tea.... it is why I positively despise "American Idol" with all my heart.

Ok, I'm done being the annoying downer now.

OMG I had to stop reading, all that laughing hysterically was causing me terrible cramping pains, round ligaments, pressure on the bladder, it was just too much.

I try not to personally make fun of the stupid names people think of, I am glad someone did because honestly, it gets so ridiculous. I can't wait to forward some stupid names to this lady, I hear them all the time. I wonder if I can be the one to anonymously make the smart-ass comments at the end.

For the record, I have never ever told anyone in real life that their names are stupid, nor have I ever told anyone in email that their names are stupid. Nor have I ever made fun of anyone I knew with a stupid name. Most of my employees who have stupid names end up asking to be called something else, and actually want their stupid names to not show up on the computer, etc. I let them, honestly, just because their parents chose an odd name doesn't mean they should be tormented by it their whole life.

It's not my business what anyone wants to name their kids, but that doesn't make it wrong to anonymously get a giggle behind their back.

I can't wait to send this to my yahoo due date club, especially for the one lady whose prospective baby name has- believe it or not- three Z's in it (since it's a boy)

I only had a quick look, but I thought most of the names they had such a problem with were fine
some of the spellings were odd, but really, what's so wrong with Wren or Arianna?

Wren's a really sweet name--I seriously considered it but it sounds too similar to my own name.
That site actually makes fun of the girl's middle name I've picked out, Mercedes (pronounced MER-suh-deez) which is my mom's middle name and has been in the family for a good six or seven generations (since before the car was invented). I think I laughed hardest at those jokes.
But I did crack up at the dozen different ways of spelling simple names. I'm a grammar geek at heart.

i've always really liked the name wren and i like odd names, both my kids have very original names and i like that they may never meet another person with their name.

I don't see what's weird about Arianna either. There are some names out there that I'm just like "...what?" I knew this girl named Stiffany because her parents couldn't agree on Stephanie vs. Tiffany. No middle-schooler should have to suffer the name STIFF-any.

Oh god some of these are too funny for words. Wonder if they make fun of the name I've picked out...

Arianna is one of our top names.

Now I can see snickering at some names...to yourself. Some really are just funny. But that site was not funny at all to me. Many of those are very common names, and some aren't. But I didn't see any that I consider "weird". Though my dh always reminds me I have strange taste in names.

Ariana was Dumbledore's sister's name! Nothing wrong with that.

That's EXACTLY what I thought. Though I don't know if I'd name a son Albus or Aberforth!

MY dd's middle name is Arianne, named after a good friend of mine. My friend has always been very proud of her name. She goes by Ari most of the time. In 18 years of knowing this friend I have only met one other person by this name. But I see it is getting more popular.
