*Appointment Thread* - Page 3

Since my MW is my sister, not sure when my first real appointment will be, probably somewhere around Aug 15th (11-12 weeks). I decided to cave in and will be getting an U/S this Thursday morning (9weeks). I'm having horrible dreams and my sister finally said, just go get an US....there is no use sitting around worried half to death.....plus it's not good for the baby I know~ So, please pray for me, as I'm nervous. I will update everyone afterwards!!

My first ob appt will be August 22. It will be for blood work and hopefully to hear the heart beat. I am so excited!! I will be 9w3d

Hi there -- please add my first perinatologist appointment on 08/17. It will be for a fetal placement check since I have a TAC and also to verify the heartbeat. I will be 8 weeks even.

My appt. on Tuesday went really well. I realy, really liked the midwife. Very natural childbirth minded, has even written papers on the benefits of delayed cord clamping and using mom's belly to heat the baby after birth, instead of the warmer. So, I *think* we are going to go with her..the only bad part is her office is about 40 minutes away and the hospital is about 45 minutes away. I don't mind traveling to go to pre-natal appointments as we frequently go up that way anyway for other homeschool activities, and I could probably schedule things so they are on the same day. I am a bit worried about driving that far in labor..but I *think* it will be okay and would rather risk a further drive for a midwife I really liked then settle for a closer hospital with a not as good midwife or OB.

amelia: My m/w and hospital are an hour away(ok, there is a hospital closer, but NOT an option) and it really isn't a big problem. My first was born in less than three hours, and they still made it in time.

Just wanted to update that my Ultrasound went beautiful! Baby was measuring perfect and within seconds we saw the heartbeat, actually it was the very first things the tech said ) I'm so glad that I decided to get one, I feel 100% better knowing baby is safe and growing inside me!!!

I actually ended up having my first appointment yesterday! My appointment on 7/31 will now be my second ultrasound, and I'll be 8 1/2 weeks instead of 10.

Yay for seeing the babies twice!

My first m/w appt is set up for September 4. I will be about 11 weeks along at that point.

Have an appt. on 08/21. Will be 11.5 weeks..so hoping to hear a hb!

my apt last sat. went great. I really liked the mw. She is about 45 min away too...but does all prenatals on Sat. which my husband loves, since he does have to miss work...he's such a workaholic.
Glad everyone else's apts went so well too

My appt. yesterday was pretty useless. Weight, urine and she ordered bloodwork and an early u/s. She had to run out to catch a baby. The u/s place called yesterday afternoon and said my appt was for the 23rd. Not sure if I'm going to go to that since I know I will be able to hear the heartbeat on Doppler before then. I have one other option for an early u/s, but that will require that I tell a few more people than I had intended to so I don't know. Hmmmmm....

Aw..thanks for remembering. I had actually canceled my appt. for that day It was just a midwife/OB interview and I had already found a midwife I really like and she was highly reccomended by other people. With the group I was interviewing on the 3rd...I did some asking around about the hospital and practice and didn't really hear anything good..so decided to just cancel it and go with the other midwife (even though she is further away).
