Had my first MW appt. yesterday at 12 weeks and 3 days. We heard the heartbeat right away and it was around 164!! She took some blood and did my blood pressure. Can't wait to hear it again! I'm finally basking in the glory of actually being pregnant!! Now I want to go out and buy some clothes that fit to show off my belly. All my maternity clothes are for when I am HUGE so I just look fat in them right now~ YEAH, so excited!!

My next appointment (after this Mnday) will be 9/17. It's a regular midwife checkup, hopefully I'll hear the heartbeat, and probably bloodwork. I'll be 15.1 weeks.

Can you please cancel my appt for 8/28?

I cancelled it because, strangely enough, my mom made an appt with this same OB/GYN. This doc was completely unprofessional and suggested to my mom that she should have a hysterectomy because "nothing works anymore so you don't need it". : Plus my mom got a really bad vibe from her and when she went to get her records to transfer to another doc, her chart said that the patient agreed to the hysterectomy!!!!!

Um, yeah, nevermind. I'm guessing that doc won't be open to my VBAC attempt, no induction, go to 42 weeks, plan. So I'm off to find someone else.

Am I the only person here who hasn't seen someone yet? I'm 11 weeks now.

Leila that's horrible!

I had my first mw appointment yesterday and it went really well. I felt really comfortable with her and I felt involved in my own care which is important to me. It was mostly a talking appointment to go over what to expect in the coming months. She also drew some blood, took my blood pressure (which was excellent), and tried to hear for the baby's heartbeat using the doppler. Unfortunately we didn't get to hear it this time, but maybe next time. My protein and glucose urine dip was fine. My weight has dropped almost 2 pounds since I found out I was pregnant.

My next appointment is 9/17 and it's to meet the other midwife and to do a physical and some other stuff. I'll be 13w5days.

Thanks guys! It really was horrible. . my mom said she was nicely dressed, very good looking, but didn't seem all that "with it", medically. Good riddance.

I have since found a midwife and I'm meeting with her on Tuesday, 9/4. We talked for a while today and we really clicked. So that's my good news for today!

I have an appt. with the CNM I do dual care with on 9/7. And then I have an appt. with my hb mw on 9/21. I need to go to the lab and get my blood drawn too. I am definitely not looking forward to that.

called MW--she is too far away so I have decided to UP so no appointments for me! This brings me great peace.
