yoga for pre-school age

wondering if anyone has seen a great yoga video geared toward ages 3-6. i'm looking for a way to have early morning physical activity with my two sons, age 2 and 4, and would love to introduce yoga. i practice regularly but would like some ideas for developing a brief family/kid practice. i think it'd be fun for them-- all those kooky animal poses. any suggestions? thanks!

Yoga Kids: Silly To Calm is geared toward the 3-6yo crowd. We love it - the positions are very kid friendly and they keep moving so they're not in any one position too long.

Yep, it's Yoga kids!

It has all the fun poses. Whenever I turn it on my kids have a blast with it. They don't calm down though, they get all wild.

We love our Yoga Kids video, too!
One caveat: Our tape has headstands in it. I was told by a gymnastics instructor that children are too young to safely perform a headstand (incompletely developed neck muscles) until a certain (??can't remember) age.

Thanks for posting, and thanks everyone for the recommendation! I have been wanting to start doing something like this every morning with my two boys who are about the same ages. I just added it to our Blockbuster Queue so we can try it out before we buy.

There is a Yoga mamas thread over in Fitness and Weight Management. The folks over there have loads of info and insight, in case you would like any more ideas.

Ooh, I hadn't come across Yoga Kids, yet. I'll have to check it out. I've enjoyed what I've seen of Angel Bear Yoga, though. Very sweet, and definitely geared toward the 3-5 y.o. group.

Thanks for that link, Folkypoet! I don't think my two boys would go for it, but I know a friend that would!

I found the Yoga Kids Silly To Calm preview on Youtube.

My little ds likes the Yoga Kid's ABC's one.

ftr there are at least three Yogakids videos, though I'm not sure what the thrid one is. We've got the ABC one on vhs and we borrow the Silly to Calm one on dvd from the library. I've never seen headstands...

There's also some good stuff from Montessori Services, such as a co-operative yoga game, yoga cards and a book called Fly Like a Butterfly. We have the book and the girls (now 2.5 and almost 5) will flip through it on their own and try a few poses.

My daughter loves Yoga for the Kid in All of Us. It assumes that the viewer has some idea of yoga poses and it has awful skits (she just love the whole toes talking to each other thing... ) but she has fun with it. We also have Yoga Kids, but I can't seem to get her to take to it.
