Baby has a cold

Benji gave Bella his cold so now I have 2 sniffly babies. Is there anything special I can/should do for my milk? I am making it a point to stay extra hydrated today, but should I take some extra vitamin C or something? Poor baby just woke me up by projectile spit up of mucus and breast milk. Did I mention she was right next to me at the time? At least she felt better afterwards.

don't drink too much extra water you can actually "dilute" your production if you drink way too much.... Just being around their sickness will have your body making antibodies and it will transfer to your baby through your milk. You could try taking vitamin c if you want to make sure you don't get sick though. Good luck mama. If Bella gets REALLY croupy you can try sitting in a steamy bathroom or next to the shower itself while it runs on hot. I had to do this with my son when he was about 3 months old. He got a terrible cold and had a high fever--winter baby--. Thank God this one will be born in hot dry weather. Have a good day if you can and keep your head up. You are doing a great job

You can certainly up your vit c intake - ask over in breastfeeding how much you'd need to get an effective dose for Bella. It's really, really hard to take too much vit c, almost impossible unless you're dosing directly into a small child. And you might go for some Emergen-C yourself, just to help you stay healthy!
