I think we are all sending hugs to Clara. I am sure it must be hard to come back to the board when things havn't gone as hoped or planned. Espessialy when she was so active on the board and we had all gotten to know her and her hopes for her birth so well. As a doula I am sure she had a very strong personal birth philosophy and it may take her some time to process all of this.

Take your time Clara and know that we love you and your baby!

Macrina, you said it really well.

We got home yesterday late afternoon (after tussling with hospital staff over the "direness" of my baby's weight loss- about 12%). Gianna's nursing like a champ though, and going through tons of dipes.

I'm focusing on my beautiful babe, and am trying to process it all. Things took a strange turn after 18 hours of abor, and five hours of pushing. We even saw her head; she was right there. But, it wasn't to be.

I think about you ladies all the time! I'll be back to post photos and a story (when I can actually sort of face up to the fact that it really did happen to me) and I hope you all are well, and holding beautiful babies of your own! Here's one photo of me and the babe to tide you over in the meantime:

Clara, your baby is adorable, and I'm so glad the two of you are doing well. Take your time and be gentle with yourself as you process the details of your experience. In the meantime, enjoy your sweet sweet baby!!

Clara, so good to hear from you! I knew you were holding off to post once you'd had a chance to run through it all yourself some more - just wanted you to know we're thinking of you and were anxious to hear all was well. Ooooh, she's gorgeous!!!

Aw Clara, she's lovely and she looks so comfy on you! I got goosebumps when I saw you'd posted and second everything said here. You take your time to process, every birth takes time and we are all here for you, thinking about you all the time and praying for your fast recovery (both physical and psychological) so that you can enjoy motherhood!

Hugs and kisses to all 3 of you!

i'm so glad to hear from you... i was getting a little worried. clara, she's absolutely beautiful!!! i'm so sorry the experience was traumatic though. i'm hoping you come to peace with the fact that it was necessary or it wouldn't have happened. i'm sure you did what was best for Gianna. you're a great mama for doing what was best for your daughter despite what you wanted. good luck, honey! can't wait to read the story (b/c like it or not, it is your daughter's birth story and is therefore beautiful), and see pics!

(btw, i only feel this way b/c i was faced with the c-section thing with kalia. They were getting ready to prep the OR, and i had to come to peace with it... that was probably one of the hardest things for me to come to peace with. i was so scared and so determined to do it "naturally.")

nak...
beautiful baby clara! so happy to hear you are home and recovering...
i agree with the others, take your time to process everything and heal emotionally and physically. you are an awesome mama - and you did what was best for your daughter - even though it wasn't how you imagined things would go. i can't imagine being in labor for that long - shoot - i was ready to give up after only 5 hours of labor and an hour and a half of pushing...
