Can you lose AF after you've already gotten it PP?

My dd was born almost 19 mos ago and I didn't have my first PP AF until she was 16 mos when she night-weaned. My period is now 5 days late, but tests keep coming up negative. Is it possible that my AF has gone away again? Dd has been nursing a little more during the day, but I'm pretty much maintaining my weight and isn't nursing at night still. I don't have a midwife for well-woman care yet since we recently moved, or else I'd probably call her!

Simple answer, yes. But like everything else, there are always factors that need to be considered. I can only give you my own experience, so here it is, take it for what it's worth

After I had DS, I got PPAF at 4mo (it was August). He was nursing a lot during the day, but had started sleeping more at night. I got AF as normal in September. October I had no cycle at all. DS was teething and had picked up his nursing A LOT. I cycled in November. No cycle for December or January, I got pg in February.

So, yes, even after having a cycle, if there are other changes going on, your cycle can go "missing".

My cycle was all screwed up while BF and post breast feeding. It took a good six months go get back on a regular cycle again.

Well, I *finally* got AF yesterday. I was about 8 days late! I think I can safely say my cycles just aren't regular yet. That was a nerve-wracking week!

I just went through the same thing. Af was due around the 22-23 of July, but didn't show up until yesterday. My ds is 6 mo and has been nursing more due to teething.
