I am so bummed...I don't look pregnant!?!?!

I am big as an elephant, I feel huge, gigantic but I have had several people express surprise that I am even pregnant and I am 36 weeks Friday. I have been swimming almost every day since March and today the pool manager was spoiling my youngest like she always does and commented that she should be spoiled because she was the youngest. I told her not for much longer and she was shocked, "I didn't know you had another child." I pointed out that I am pregnant and due soon. She didn't believe it and she has seen me naked in the shower room.

I am so bummed, so I just look fat???? Honestly I have never been so big in my life but I came home and been looking in the mirror all day and I don't really look all that pregnant.

I just feel really down about this that people are looking at me and thinking I am just a fat slob and not knowing I am pregnant. Sure this is hormonal but now I feel very self conscience about my body and parading around in a swimsuit everyday.

I am sorry. How frustrating.
I am getting similar comments. "Oh, I had no idea you were even pregnant!" : I'm 39 weeks!!! I feel like I look more pregnant this time than before.

You can't win either way. I've been told that "You'll never make it to August!" since March. Now I'm huge and people expect me to be due any day! When I tell them that I have another month they say "Are you sure?"

I'm sorry that the pool person made you feel bad about yourself, but random people don't really know all that much. s Don't worry about it.

People can be so sucky! Focus on all the wonderful little things that make you aware of being pregnant and enjoy it as your own secret little world. Baby kicking/moving: that's all yours and you don't have to share! That and, you could get a t-shirt with some snarky message if that's your style. Hugs, Mama.

Thanks, I'm over it. Hopefully if I am not as big as I think then pp I will get back into my clothes sooner too. I know people mean this stuff as a compliment.

(Popping in from the April 08 DDC) Maybe this will make you feel better . . . at least I hope it makes you laugh .

Just think: it's much better to be 38 weeks and have people marvel that you're pregnant than to be NOT AT ALL pregnant and have someone ask you when you're due (as I did to some poor hapless stranger a few years ago; imagine how wonderful we both felt : ).
