So I am 19 weeks and getting ultrasound this wednesday for two reasons: 1. to reaffirm that the baby does not have a birth defect due to the last baby and 2. to find the gender. And I am anxious to know the gender!!!! So how good will the ultrasound be at this time?

If they can get a clear view it should be easy to tell - I think it's more about whether they can get a good look from the right angle than how far along you are.

Yep what Sheila said. I just had mine today at 17w3d and you could totally see that there was a penis there. It was beyond obvious.

I had my u/s last week. I thought I was 18 weeks, and they told me they shouldn't have a problem seeing. The measurements actually put me closer to 17 weeks (16w5d), but it was still completely obvious that it was a girl. This is our third girl and DH and I both recognized it immediately.

You could tell my girl is a girl at 17w1d and then again at 20w even. Assuming they are right and it really IS a girl...
