one minute contrax yesterday with definite peaks & back pain, four minutes apart for about SEVEN HOURS and then nothing.

redhen,
we have the same practice schedule. I had the same all day yesterday, but then my ww gave me some homeopathics to help some things along. This am I lost lots of plug, nothing bloody yet, darnit!

My husband has been off work for 2 weeks, but he had to go back to work this morning. we were just SURE baby would be here by now. I know there is no way to plan these things. He can't get much more time off and we can't afford it anyway so I am feeling a little bummed today about that. And a little scared to be alone with my 3 year old! I have enjoyed that time with him.

Last night my son, mom and I made a birth poster. We painted a huge posterboard with swirly colors and then put some glitter on it. After it dried we cut out come quotes and affirmations an taped them to it with this in the middle:

Open-mindedness
Understanding
Responsibility

Better communication
Intuition
Reconciliation
Trust
Healing

We decided to do a positive expectations birth poster instead of a birth plan for our midwife. It was really fun...just wanted to share. Jessica

Jessica that poster sounds great!
Holly, is your bebe Posterior? i notice that when i am having back labor, she is posterior, and i can have some REALLY hard contrax for hours that i am SURE are doing something leading up to birthing soon. then they just... stop.

Still here...

Had another NST yesterday evening - all is still well. Even had a few contrax. In fact, starting yesterday they started to get a little more intense and frequent. This kind of thing goes on for AGES for me, though. I suspected it was not a good sign when they didn't start up sooner...

If I go into full blown labor before the weekend, I'll be amazed. Also, since I've gone this insanely late (wtf? lol) now I have this stressful thing to AVOID. DH has a very important custody hearing (he's trying to get his son into our way more stable household) on Friday. It would be pretty yucky if I was giving birth at that time and he had to miss it.

I'm here too...

I reallllly thought yesterday was the day... I started having contractions 10-15 minutes apart at 7am... they got down to 7-8 minutes apart by late afternoon and then just all of a sudden, they stopped... Although, I do think baby was moving into position yesterday though... he kept wiggling and squirming throughout contractions, etc... and now today, I haven't felt much of him (like he's turned from posterior to anterior)

I'm getting ready to go back into work today (after leaving with such HOPE yesterday!)... gotta go get the big one registered for 1st grade first, then I'm heading in...

OMG - isn't that just the most uncomfortable thing??? Jake can really throw some punches during a contraction and I'm all... oof. Ow.

reassure me that my body is working? PLEASE!

Lurker here
I'm 'only' 40 wks 2 days and logically I've no idea why I'm feeling impatient! I think I'm just concerned about having to fight off an induction next week.
I feel so well apart from crampy period-like pains that come and go (but aren't really timeable) and occasional backache.
Yesterday I went to the Y and swam some laps...breast stroke=hard work! I've cleaned my house from top to bottom, stocked my freezer, eaten hot curry, read Ina May.....
Last night, DH pulled a muscle in his thigh playing soccer but I've warned him that he'll have to take a painkiller and 'perform' in the bedroom tonight!
I've had an amazing pregnancy and just don't want to ruin my positive attitude by being grumpy for the next 2 weeks!!!!!

I'm still here!! 41w6d

I got some acupuncture yesterday and slept through the night (except 2 pee breaks) for the first time in months....it was wonderful. Unfortunately, it didn't do anything as far as induction is concerned. I was feeling pretty crampy with the needles in and I have some seeds in my ear now, but nothing now.....

Tomorrow, we see the midwife again and we'll schedule another u/s and NST and maybe strip membranes....

I'm 41 weeks and 4 days today. Yesterday DH and I had some nice personal time in the morning, then I had an NST and fluid check (looking good). I had my membranes stripped, and in the afternoon my second acupunture treatment for induction. That evening I had some menstrual-like crampiness that I thought might be early labor, so since it was 11:00 PM I went to sleep, hoping to either get some good rest or be woken up by real contractions. I ended up getting a really good night's sleep but the crampiness was gone by the morning.

Tomorrow I'll have another acupuncture treatment, another NST/fluid check, and my membranes swept again. Then I'm planning to lock DH in the bedroom with me for the afternoon.

I have an induction scheduled with the midwives for Tuesday, when I'll be at 42 weeks. If I get desperate enough by Sunday, I may take some castor oil. I know the stuff is nasty, but my cervix is super effaced and soft and somewhat dilated, so it seems like it's the contractions that are key.

So today is my first baby's birthday--MY DOG, CHARLIE--he's 8....Maybe my human baby was just waiting to share his/her brother's birthday....

MW appointment in about an hour...Like you, Thalia, had my 2nd acupuncture yesterday to no avail so far.... We'll probably strip the membranes today at 42 weeks plus 15 hours (conceived in Japan heehee) and order a BPP.

I feel like I have WEEKS of this experience under my belt right now. I'm always so disappointed when I wake up at 5 am realizing that labor is not gonna happen on this day. <sigh>

My due date was 7/30 and I'm still hanging out pregnant. This is my third and my latest so far. I'm almost in disbelief now that I'll actually go into labor... pregnancy is feeling almost too normal since it seems to have lasted so long. I'm tempted to try something to encourage things, but haven't figured out what to do yet...

I'm 40w4d and had a craniosacral alignment to try and set labor off two days ago. I had some mild braxton hicks and lots of energy that night but no baby yet. I too am beginning to feel all too normal, other then the fact I have end of pregnancy eczema that is driving me itchy crazy. If no baby by Monday I'm going to go get some acupuncture done for the eczema and to see if I can get some labor rolling. I know I won't be pregnant forever but sheesh it's really beginning to feel that way.
