Our arms and hearts are full now!!! - And she has a name!

She's here! After 45 hours of labor including 6 hours of pushing, our remote home waterbirth was moved two hours to hospital where our dreams of natural birth were set aside to make room for serenity. The greatest home birth supporting doc handed us our baby via c-section on July 22nd at 12:55 a.m. This child is so strong and calm... and we're an entirely content family. I'll share our amazing birth story in a few days.

Taslyn Rae was born weighing 7 pounds 13 ounces. She lost 10 ounces the first two days and has gained 2 ounces a day thereafter- weighing in at 8 pounds 7 ounces on day 12. We are happily settled in... it was very difficult emotionally to have to deal with the transition of coming home, when all I ever wanted was a homebirth. But we are here now, nursing and co-sleeping and cloth diapering in the home we love.

Congratulations! I'm sorry your birth didn't go as planned (what a long difficult labor!), but I am so glad your baby is here safely and you are all doing so well. You sound so happy!!
