Induction today or tomorrow

My NST yesterday had some more decels. and this little one is not active enough. I am 39 weeks. The Peri wanted to induce yesterday. My OB prefers to wait till Wednesday. ( I don't know why)
The thought is that by inducing now we have a decent chance of a vaginal birth (if my membranes don't rupture till the end. Otherwise we will likely be looking at a c-sect. It is a difficult decision for me. But I would rather have him a few days early, and properly colonize his gut (GBS neg) with a vag birth, over a c-section closer to 40 weeks. I do know I may still wind up with a c-sect anyhow, if he does not tollerate labor.
I am schedualed for another NST at 1:30 P-Time. If he has more decels today the Peri will basically pull rank on my OB and admit me for induction.
My fluid is still good and we can find no reason from the U/S why he is having these decels. The weight estimate is 7lb10 oz ( so 6.5-8.5 lbs) The decels and the marked reduction in movement is a bit worrysome. I have been feeling a bit anxious for him the past several days anyhow. I have hours of labor on end but no progress yet. Maybe 3 cm at this point.
I will update you all when I can.

I was induced with my last and did better than anyone expected. I was able to stay off the bed until it was time to push and didn't have an epidural. Things were kept as natural as we could and I felt good about avoiding a c-section.

Hope all goes well for you!

Sending lots of good thoughts your way. Seems promising for a successful induction if you are already 3 cm. Have a wonderful birth!

My sister had her third baby induced with Pitocin, but still managed to birth otherwise naturally (no epidural, etc.) - so take heart - while not everyone births as easily as my sister, in some cases it can still work out!

Well looks like it will be tonight. Maternity ward is over full at the moment: We have to do this very slow and gently, so that he won't stress. I am only 2+ and pretty thick yet Dr thinks that for a gentle induction starting here I may be working at it for 2 days. I will do whatever is in my power to give this guy a vaginal birth.
Your prayers, labor vibes and well wishes are all appreciated. : Thank you!!!!!

I will pray for an ideal induction for you and the little one!! Sounds like you have a great OB who supports your desires for this birth.

Enjoy these last few hours at home and pamper yourself as much as possible.

Can't wait to hear the great news!
