Doula and midwifery websites

I have been adding things to my website for a long time, as things come up and birth happens! I would love to see others websites to get fresh and new ideas. Also, if anyone has anything together about nutrition and pregnancy, or herbal alternatives (red clover blossoms as an alterative to calcium tablets for leg cramps type of thing) I would love more information on that.

Here is my website.

I have my client handout booklet online here - it has lots of good information.

I desperately need to update my website! Thanks for the incentive!

Pam
I really like the pdf booklet you have on your website. I give my couples a folder with much of this info in it, but putting it on the website would save a lot of copying and time for me, not to mention the ecological effects. Do you have concerns about people simply lifting your pdf and calling it theirs?

My website for the OP is www.mothersownbirth.com

Oh no, no, I didn't mean for me to borrow it, although I really like the idea of providing handouts to clients in pdf. Maybe a CD with all the handouts on it instead of a folder, but then the CD can't be recycled like paper. Just can't win, it seems.

I was asking about whether you have found out that another midwife, doula, etc. has visited your site and "borrowed " your material and then passed it off as their own. The reason I ask is that there are several things on my own website that I have worked on very hard, like the wording of some things. I know that another midwife has visited my site and suddenly things I do, say, or offer have then shown up on her site.
I suppose this is always a risk, but it can be annoying when one spend hours working on something that they feel reflects the individuality of their practice, to see it copied and used as though it were another's idea.

Oh I would have "un nice" feelings about that.

Here's mine. http://www.cloud9doula.com

I am working on a resource section, just haven't gotten it finished yet. You might be interested in my henna section as that's something a bit different.

I'm subbing because this is the project I am working on this week, moving my website and getting it done! Anyone have recommendations for websites? I need the kind with templates since I have no desire to learn html (or any other computer stuff, lol).

Pam, thanks for posting that! I absolutely love, what a great idea. I feel like I give out tons of handouts, I thinking putting it in booklet form is a genius idea! Do you print them and give them out? Most of my clients don't have a computer so I would have to do that!

Now, i'm committing myself to get working on this so I can post too!!!

I have them printed at our local print/blueprinting shop and coil bound there. They run me about $4 a booklet and I give them to everyone I interview with - even if they don't hire me as their midwife it's important information for women to have. It is my hopes that by printing it out and binding it that they pass the information on to other women.

Here is my website:

Trillium Birth Serviceshttp://www.trilliumbirthservices.com

I would like to have more info on the resources page but I threw it up quickly. I also give out a packet of info to every potential client with info on waterbirth, herbal tea, home remedies for pregnancy complaints, emergencies, and other relevant things.

I just LOVE the photo of the baby in the bath on your midwifery page. I should have taken some photos like that of my kids! They loved it as much as this baby on your website. Beautiful.
