"Do my laundry!"

Ok, admittedly, it's been piling up in the hamper and overflowing making it hard to close his bedroom door. He took it upon himself to get a basket and put the overflow in it. Then he brought it to me and told me to do his wash. I was cracking up because he dropped it at my feet and was so earnest in his request.

Hmmm, so I though if he can do that, maybe he can hit a few buttons, dump some laundry soap in and put the washing machine lid on. Turns out he can. So it looks like I might only have to supervise him as he does his own wash.

For me it's a big deal. I know he is only 8.5 years but man do I want him to be able to live on his own (lol- when he is of age!) if at all possible... ok and I hate doing the wash

Cool! I think it is a big deal as well--I'd be thrilled!

All children should learn how to do their own laundry - he's just ahead of the pack

I'd be thrilled too. I think that's awesome!
