Why is it as soon as you decide to get pregnant because your child is easy, they turn into a nightmare? Is it the extra hormones in BM?

My 2 year old has a tantrum about everything now and most of it is about what I have to do for him - Mommy can't sit on the sofa, Mommy can't sit on the chair, Mommy can't stay in bed in the morning, Mommy has to eat the crackers even though she is full, etc. etc. It's driving me crazy and I'm sick of crying and general ridiculousness all the time.

Rant over.

My dd is having real tantrums for the first time! She is 28 months and I swear it is something in the milk or maybe my supply is diminishing. I had almost started to wonder if she wasn't going to have tantrums or have them when she was 3. No such luck. Can I just say that it also drives me insane when she tells me where to sit etc. while I'm trying to take a break!!!!!!!! We waited till she was this age to start trying partly because things had been easier for a little while.

same here, and I really do think it is the diminishing supply. She's always been somewhat of a firecracker, but lately she's been downright mean. She wants "more milk" all the time, and of course there isn't much. And I think she senses the stress I'm under...both physically and mentally worrying about the baby.

Glad I'm not alone. Maybe it is the extra hormones in the milk?

Wow, it must be the milk! My 3.5 y o has been 'off' for about a week now and it is driving us crazy. He whines and cries about everything and nurses voraciously at night. Yesterday was awful, today has to be better!

It's an epidemic! My ds is having a rough time all of a sudden too. My milk supply seems the same so far, but wonder if the taste/content is changing?
We can't go anywhere without him losing it at some point. Just the other day he freaked out because dh put some jeans in the shopping cart with him. When he is in a fit, he is unconsolable, we just give him love and let it run its course and then he will let us help him.
It is toughest when he does it at night, like last night, I don't think I slept longer than a half and hour at a time. Poor ds kept fussing and waking up, he was dreaming and talking in his sleep a lot.
Now to find a nap...............

it's not just the milk because Annie's milk source hasn't changed at all (since it's Jes that's nursing her and I'm the pregnant one) but man, it's a 1/2 hr conversation to convince her that she wants to go to the park to play with her friends. SHE LIKES THE PARK! Geez! What is UP with that?

oh, and the trying to control the universe thing drives me NUTS! How do you intervene when your child throws a hissy fit because she doesn't want another child to walk by her stroller when she's 5 feet away from it? Or she screams at a kid to stop looking at her toy???
