For all the mamma's who've had their babies...

What were your early signs labour was approaching when you look back on it now?

You would think that since this is my 3rd, I would remember, but I can't really. :

I was hoping y'all would help feed my obsession right now for any sign I might be having this baby soon! (Think of it as the same type of obsessing we all did way back when during the TWW and wondering if we were pg. )

So 'fess up! In hindsight, what subtle early labour signs were there that you maybe didn't notice at the time?

Ummmmm.... I was in denial that I was actually in labor because she was 8 days early. I had a mama's blessing to go to the night before she was born and I so wanted to go. I was pretty cranky and grouchy. I went grocery shopping with my oldest dd and she kept saying "mom you are being impatient and b*tchy to people!" I was trying to clean my room all day but kept having to stop cuz I was having bh and I was really really tired all afternoon so I napped off and on through the afternoon. I was also a lot quieter than usual during supper I barely said anything and I was also pretty quiet at my mama's blessing.
Here's hoping you mamas get to hold your babes soon!

I honestly had none. Baby was 4 days overdue. i went to sleep. I woke up at 4 am with back pain (no surprise considering I was on a NST on my back for over an hour the day before).

By 4:30 I was having contractions every 3 minutes.

I had a little softer stools than usual, but nothing alarming, and nothing that hadn't happened a few times in the weeks before.

Nesting, well had been doing a LOT of that for the last month.

if there were any I missed them

after a few weeks of prodromal labor, and thinking about a possible elective induction (for a move) a few days away, I had given up thinking that I might go into labor on my own in the 5 days before the possible induction date. I had been late for my first two pregnancies, and the induction was at 39 weeks. On the night that I was 38w4d, my water spontaneously broke at 1:30 in the am. I had never had my water break before labor for either of my other births, so I was VERY surprised!

I did do one thing 26 hrs before my water broke to try to move things along. I don't beleive that all the natural induction methods work at all--I've been late twice before and tried a lot of them! But 26 hrs before my water broke, I ingested semen. That is NOT one of our normal practices, but I really wanted to try everything I thought was safe to get the labor going before the induction date so I wouldn't have to decide whether or not to be induced. When the next day rolled around and I was not in labor--that's when I gave up and resigned myself to having to deal with the induction--that's when my water broke.

So--lots of rambling to say I have no real signs, but I think my story is somewhat hopeful in that this baby was a lot earlier than his siblings, and my water spontaneously broke when it never did before.

Absolutely nothing for me. No contractions, no nausea, no soft stools. At exactly 41 weeks I woke up at 5:30 to my water leaking, and she was here at 9:00, 3 1/2 hours later. I had no clue the night before.

Looking back, I went into super nesting mode. My sis even said that I was nesting, but I didn't think that nesting at 5 weeks early would mean the baby was soon approaching. My house was really clean for having a three-year-old, and I froze about 60 servings (about 10-15 meals) of food. The night before I had her, I was up every 45 minutes to go to the bathroom. I had intentionally avoided water after a certain point so I could get some sleep, but my body didn't want to help. That was the biggest sign.
