Miracle Belt?

Anyone tried this? http://www.miraclebelt.com/ I just bought one because right now i'm like "what the heck it's under $50 maybe it's worth it???"
They call it the Simple New Sensory Aid for Children with Developmental Delays. I showed the site to DD's pt and she said weighted vests and belts have be around forever but she hadn't seen this particular one.

Interesting. I must admit I'm automatically skeptical of ANYTHING with the word "miracle" in the product line. :

If you decide to try it I'd like to know what you think!
My son has a weighted snake at the OT's that he loves to have in his lap and they say it helps him focus. I asked about purchasing one and she told me to fill a sock with beans instead.

I'm almost sold. I've kind of overspent on things to help Nate. If you get it definitely tell us how it goes!!:

Thanks so much for the snake idea! Michael starts to meltdown whenever he sees the vest so I've been at a loss on what to do. He absolutely loves the stuffed snake we see every week at storytime so this may really work for him. The belt also looks like a good idea for him although it seems easy enough to make one myself. Add me to the list for hearing your review.

These weighted things don't make sense to me...probably because I have a dd that goes naked when on sensory overload, never wears pants b/c she can't tolerate the feel of them (only dresses), and would never wear a vest or that belt. But I like the snake idea, where do you get those?

It's in the mail - i'll let you all know when it arrives. I have to say I am skeptical from the rave reviews on the site (esp. the 10 year old who never walked until he got this belt)

Here's my report after trying this for a week. The only thing i have noticed is she either has a bowel movement or makes sounds like she is having one when wearing said belt. Other than that she is less likely to want to stand or walk when wearing it LOL No miracle here.
I can't really answer how it is for sensory issues since my DD doesn't seem to have any.
