What are you knitting right now? - Page 2

Last night I finished Knitty's Broadripple socks, will be taking pictures to put on my blog later today I imagine.

Then I cast on my Aayla Baby Blanket pattern but this time for my nephew due in September, in the azure and brown. It's delicious!!!

I just started on some leg warmers last night, and I've got a pair of 1940s lace socks on another pair of needles right now. I will be switching off between the two, because I get bored after a while if the pattern doesn't have a lot of variation. :P

Well I have two cardi's for me OTN, one is a P&S wrap and the other is the CPH. I also have a sock, the lacy thong from interweave (like 2 rows left, just can't get around to finishing it) and a cardigan for my niece.

2 baby blankets for the one on the way. one is knit with some fat chenille yard. the other is peaches and cream sampler squares that I'm now crocketing together

how do you guys keep so many things going at once? I get obsessed about getting something finished so that I can go on to the next project. (this dress is taking FOR EVER)

it's not a talent, it's a defect! we (or I) get irritated about what we're doing & want to take a break... new needles, different yarn & more or less complex pattern. don't want to seam that sweater today & dont need it till next week anyway? set it aside & finish it later -- knitting is supposed to be FUN for you! buy some new yarn you just *have* to try? go ahead & cast on & knit a few stitches...ooohh! it'd be perfect as a baby sweater! i'll just cast it on now & knit the ribbing for it to see how the colorway plays out...now you're up to the armpit, but you dont feel like pulling out the dpn's for the sleeve, so you toss it in a bag & set it aside -- it doesn't have a specific recipient, so there's no rush -- finish it when you want! Pick up that sock you've been playing with, then realize you aren't sure what sort of heel you want. put it back down & make a mental note to "think on it" and look up "afterthought heels" next time you're online....

pretty soon you have a good half-dozen projects OTN & you understand why everyone loves having extra cables for their interchangeable needle sets!

I love reading what other mamas are doing. I got some great patterns from links, too. Thanks.

I am making this sweater for my daughter.

i am making a shall for me in this yarn. It is more denim-y thanit looks in the picture. the patern is in "not another teen knitting book."

and of course I always have a washcloth handy . . . .
and I need to get started on mittens but I lost my pattern. Does anyone have a good pattern to recommend that has multiple sizes, no frills, no felting and is knit in the round?

I'm crocheting baby socks (after making every pair of booties known to man and ripping them out before deciding that the kind of "booties" I wanted were actually just socks ) and baby mitts.

I have a few things going on now.

-jester's hat for my friend's ds
-LTK felted crowns for my other friend's twins
-Hip in Hemp for dd
-Trellis sweater for ds

As soon as I get the yarn I'll be working on ponchos for my friend's dd and her AG doll.

I just started knitting and I love it! I am a crocheter too.

Right now I have:

a super cute sweater for my baby that's due in November
http://dogsstealyarn.com/yoda.htm

I'm going to start working on another baby hat for my newborn too. I like this pattern, it's super easy http://www.bevscountrycottage.com/seed-cap.html

I love making hats! I want to make more hats and sweaters for the winter.

The first thing I knitted was a soaker for my 13 month old, but it came out big enough to fit me! I'm gonna try to find another pattern soon. Anyone have any suggestions?

I'm working on a Jayne Cobb hat (for a friend) a knit sweater that I swear I was not making to be a Slytherin sweater, I just happened to use those colours, and crocheting a tank using the pattern for the Jolly Roger sweater in Happy Hooker, minus the sleeves

I'm working on the Bamboo Ballerina tank from SWTC. When I finally finish with it I'm going to work on a Flirty Skirty from LTK for dd. I love making stuff for little ones. Grown up things just take too long!

OTN:

A soaker for ds
LTK felted backpack, for ds
LTK Picky pants for a friends baby due in November (they look so TINY!)
DD "frogged" a scarf I was knitting for my mil for me : the otherday so I have to decide if I am going to restart that or bag it for something new

I like to only have 3 things going at a time. More that that and I start to get the feeling like I am knitting in circles and am not going to finish anything. I won't allow myself to start anything new until I finish one of them. That is why I try to have something easy and something challenging with something that is quick to knit going on.

I'm making another of these:

I have to make 3 more before I can move on.

I've been on a dishcloth kick and just finished Bad Juju, which my hubby promptly brought to work to freak out him office mates before I could take a picture of it with the heart on it's chest.

Also trying to whip together a pair of booties for upstairs neighbors. New baby. But despite doing this pattern a million times before, I've had to frog it 3 times. Got one down, hopefully the next one will be less problematic.
