And OHHH that scene with Dumbledore and the Dursleys is so great! I remember just rolling about the glasses banging the Dursleys in the head.

I thought that Molly's line as she goes after Bellatrix was funny, largely because it was so out of character for her (the language, mainly) and because I had an image of Julie Walters screaming "Not my daughter, you B!T@H" as she takes on Helena Bonham Carter.

Exactly! I was getting a little used to the idea of profanity what with all of Ron's "effing" this and "effing" that, but when Molly straight out used the B-word, all in caps, at the top of a new page, I just sat there....blinked a few times, then laughed out loud and said "yes!"

...then kept on reading like a mad woman.

At this point I dropped my book from shock. Actually. Dropped. My. Book. Then I started grinning like a madwoman and made several "Alright!" and "You go girl!" comments. I'm sure my neighbors think I'm insane. I sooo hope this ends up in the movie.

And I don't think I've seen this one mentioned yet. During the Potterwatch broadcast Fred commented that Voldermort "...can move faster than Severus Snape confronted with shampoo."

I can't imagine that line NOT being in the movie! They had no qualms about using the "B" word in the 3rd movie! (OK, so Aunt Marge was talking about dogs...)

Oh thanks so much for reminding me of this one - I just LOVED it and loved all of Potterwatch.

I wasn't shocked by Mrs Weasley as much as I just roared! JK isn't exactly prim, but she hasn't used profanity much; still, as the master that she is with language, it just goes to show you that she can use a relatively light cursswords to maximum effect. It's like it counted for 10 hardcore words from other authors.

Brilliant!

The other day I told DD that there are very few people (or fictional characters) I would call a bitch. Umbridge, Bellatrix, and Fang's mother all qualify.

You guys are so making me miss my book. Once I was done reading it I let my neighbor borrow it so she could read it. Now I want it back, NOW!

I love Ron and luna's personalities and Fed and george almost always make me laugh.

Actually about all the parts with the twins except Fred dying.

This isn't in the book, but I saw a graphic somewhere that said
"Shouting Lumos at the light switch will not help."

does anyone watch doctor who?
In the episode where they go back to shakespeares england, the doctor and martha use "expleriamus" (sp?) to defeat these witch like aliens.

The doctor also says that he cried when he read book 7 (this came out earlier this year in england before the book was out.)

they're both in the same episode. I think he says the line about book seven when they are in the bedroom figuring out how to share the one bed. maybe.

Oh, another part I thought was funny was right after Harry opened his gifts, while still at the burrow, and Hermione said she would pack them for him and then she says "I'm nearly done {packing}, I'm just waiting for the rest of your underpants to come out of the wash, Ron" and Ron splutters... I can totally his face saying 'Why are you washing my underpants?!' LOL!!

I thought Verasitaserum came up in another book. Goblet of Fire, maybe? And it was a really big deal, if it wasn't illegal.
