No more night waking tears (bad dreams??) for the past week in our home and he seems significantly less tense when someone mentions starting school in September!
I've been meaning to get some Aspen for DS. How much do you give and how often? I'd love to know your plan as peace of mind for DS would rock!

thanks,

Megin,
DS1 also takes a few other supplements so he takes his first "squirt" in the morning with breakfast. He didn't seem bothered by the direct taste of it, but if he had, I would have added it to juice or something.

I have been giving him a 'squirt' 3-4x a day, spaced out pretty evenly. I plan to see how it holds up when Montessori starts, since transition is HUGE for him in terms of anxiety. I imagine that I will increase slightly then...if needed.
I find homeopathics to be subtle, and more doesn't always = greater response. IME, if it is not the right remedy, it won't work as you hope. Thankfully, Aspen is the right thing for our son!
I hope your DS responds just as well.

I looked up playful parenting and he has a whole website here:

Thanks for the suggestion

My dd has some Aspergers symptoms and has a lot of anxiety too. We havn't had her tested yet though. It is interesting that doctors are all different in their diagnosises. It makes you wonder what is really wrong with your child. Like some of you are saying though, sometimes the seperate things combine into one thing (anxiety and sensory are a part of Aspergers,etc.).

My eldest has NLD, which is frequently misdx (usually as AS or ADHD) since it is uncommon, and one trait is "angry at home, anxious away from home" but we do see the anxiety at home too. Her anxiety stems from any change in routine, even a good one, and from an inability to "go with the flow". Have you looked to see if this is what your DS seems to have?

The one thing that I can suggest is "Square breathing" - inhale for three counts, hold three counts, exhale three counts, wait three counts - it helps her calm quickly. She is receiving CBT also, as sbgrace recommended, and I have seen improvement.

I will be checking into all these great suggestions for my DD too.

It is great that the Aspen is working, but essences (and homeopathics) should really not be given within 15 mintues of eating, they are more effective that way. So never add it to juice, water is fine. Also you don't even need to take essences internally, you can put it on pressure points like a wrist for example.

My kids happily take a squirt of flower essence neat, although we don't take Bach flowers, as DH owns a vibrational medicine company so always take one of his remedies.
