language moment

DD (30 mths with language delays) just discovered the strawberries in the frig. I got her one and she finished it. I knew she wanted another. I put my right hand on her right wrist, my left hand on her left wrist, helped her sign, "more," then gave her another strawberry.

We did this 3-4 more times after she finished another strawberry and wanted more.

On the fifth time, I was distracted and slow to respond to her standing in front of me, wanting another strawberry (cause I was surfing MDC if you must know). After standing there a while, she sighed, took my left wrist very gently in one hand and my right wrist very gently with the other, and with infinite patience and affection, put my hands together and said, "more."
