the irony of Lifetime- TV for women

The irony- Lifetime is sponsoring a week against violence on its channel with lots of good sounding stuff.
However, most of the reason that I cancelled cable and satellite tv was that my husband couldn't stop watching those rotten violent Lifetime movies- the ones where the men beat the women for 2 hours and then in the last 5 minutes the women either die or kill their abuser. It was the channel with the absolute most violence against women that I've ever seen!

I despise lifetime!! I, too, call it the "victim channel"!! EVERY movie is about a woman as victim. Why on earth would we want to watch that??? And why would it be considered women's television. That could be another whole new thread.

Wow, I thought I was the only one! I hate that channel. Its the biggest downer! My sister always wants to watch it! Everytime I watch it with her I get sucked in and end up feeling really horrible. I hate TV!

When my dh used to watch Lifetime, I could walk in the house, never look at the tv, hear one sentence and then I'd say "oh, another Lifetime beat up women movie". I honestly think we argue less now that he doesn't even have that channel as an option.
People that like that channel really get sucked into it. I couldn't imagine having my son grow up watching those movies. I'd rather have him watching dumb martial arts flicks than Lifetime movies.
