i cant do laundry..& my dh is mad about it - Page 2

lost several items to acne meds

also it could be something from cleaning rags.

my routine is that the rags go in a bin. then I was a load that is just rags. After that load I always do something like towels or sheets, something that I'm less worried about damage. That way if someone used a cleaner that could cause damage the risk of it getting on clothes is low.

I'm overly paranoid, but its not that difficult to order the loads.

A PP already mentioned this - but, you didn't answer whether you are using fabric softener. That can leave spots too. But, it sounds like the order you are loading could be the problem. Let us know if doing water, detergent and, then, clothes solves the problem.

is it something to do with his deoderant?

i am going to reccomend Charlies. no scents, no brighterners, or whiteners, or any additives. in fact it takes just one tablespoon of the powder to wash a heavily soiled load.
also, as PP have suggested, start washer, while it sfilling add your detergent, then add the clothing once its disolved.
what kinds of body products is your family using? could be from that.
also, what cleaning products do you use in general?
does your husband work with ANY chemicals?

If you don't use bleach AT ALL, then I'm truly flumoxxed. Even undiluted/poorly dissolved detergent shouldn't be fading sections of fabric, and if it is just residue, it should wash off.

You do not use ANY bleach anywhere in your house? If you use mainstream cleaners, many products have bleach mixxed into them, like a "bathroom cleaner" might have a little bleach in it, etc.

Also, the fact that it is JUST dh's stuff is weird...I will echp an earlier statement...does he work with ANY chemicals, clean anything, rub against anything, etc that might have bleach on it?

i used to get a bunch of bleach spots on my good skirts, and had no idea why, as the ONLY thing in the house we bleach are dh's white undershirts and wear. Alas.....turns out my unsteady hands were letting smalls drips of bleach run down the side of the washer after i poured it in, and then my skirt would brush up against it as i filled the washer.
*sigh*
