how soon after "bloody show?"

I lost my mucous plug earlier tonight and had definite "bloody show." Never had this happen before birth before.

How long after you had this symptom -- if you did -- did you begin labor?

No personal experience here (yet), but the midwife I used to apprentice with always said that when the plug comes out in one big chunk (versus "melting" away as lots of stringy mucus) that labor was certain within a day or so. If it's stringy, it could be a few days. HTH!

im gonna agree with that. for me, the day before grace was born i started losing little bits of it...and then the morning labor started (the next morning at 4am), i woke up with a bad...cramp? and used the bathroom, and this huuuuuuge jelly looking thing came out...and then the contractions came almost instantly.

my first was born 24 hours after I lost the whole plug in a big glob.

With all 5 of my babies I never had "bloody show" until labor started.

I had 5 days between my first "show" and this baby's arrival. Previous pg I never had show until I was in active labor.
