Brace yourselves ladies ... Full Moon this weekend!!

Okay, ladies who are due at the beginning of August ... Be forewarned that Sunday into Monday is the Full Moon! This could be just the boost you need to get your labors started. So, Monday and Tuesday I'll be looking for lots of new birth stories!!

On my horizon .... 36w6d checkup showed no cervical changes whatsoever. 37w3d home visit with midwife and doula showed the baby to be very much dropped, head way down in pelvis, and midwife/doula "intuition" that I should have my things ready, because the baby is not going to his due date.

So, who knows ... I'm hoping he will at least have the courtesy to let me finish my work project that is due next Saturday! Then I promise him I will take a break from accepting projects

Exciting, huh? I have an appointment tomorrow in the afternoon. I will probably ask for another vaginal exam to see how things are going (or not going). I usually operate with the moon, so let's see

39 weeks today!

Last week Sunday baby was at -1 station and I was only 1 cm. dilated. Cervix very, very soft.

Really? That's exciting! I'm 38 weeks and sooo ready to have this baby any day. I'm 4cm, mostly effaced, baby dropped a month ago, losing chunks of mucus left and right . . . baby seems antsy lately, and I think she wants out! I've been feeling very crampy the past 2 days, and the pressure on my pelvic floor is insane. Tomorrow's my birthday, and I think a new baby would be a lovely birthday present!:

EXC-ellent!

It's kind of scary and exciting at the same time. I'm due Aug 7 but I want to wait until my husband gets here on the 1st or 2nd before I have this baby!

Please, please, please let this baby come tomorrow! At my 39w mw appt the other day she said I wasn't dialated at all but the head was very low in position. We went driving all morning out on bumpy, dirt roads (our sat. morning ritual) and dtd before dh was off to work. My mother's making the 3 hr trek up here today, should be here any minute now, so it would be great if she didn't leave tomorrow and then have to turn around and drive up again in a few days. Come on baby, be nice to you grandma.

It would also be nice since dh put his bet in for the baby pool tomorrow... so it would mean an extra $150! Yahoo!

I was watching the moon last night and thinking "this could be it!" 39 weeks, lots of contractions, and feeling very ready. Come on baby, I'm ready when you are!

It would be mighty convenient for baby to come tomorrow for us too, as the drive to the birth center is an hour and a half -- and we're already there for our appointment

come on full moon! my due date is aug 4 but im thinking i may go tonight, but i have been thinking that every night since sunday... my cervix was checked thursday and i was 5cm, but i have felt myself dilating more since then and did a self-check today and i think im at least 6cm, maybe even 7cm with a bulging bag of waters. i have been feeling very laborish, so maybe it will be soon!

My due date was July 15th (or the 23rd depending on U/S results), so I'm overdue and sooo ready to have this baby. A few ctx, some really strong, and others mild. I was woken up by several last night and thought it might be it, but nope.

My midwife says babies are born on the *waning* moon, not the full moon. My DH scoffed at all of the moon stuff and asked why the heck moons make a difference?

I dont think I'm close enough to my due date for the moon to make this baby pop out yet, but it sure is making my toddler SUPER cranky, absolutely inconsolable, intolerable, and so forth. Ugh!!!

I posted this on another thread but I'll repost here ;-)

I'm hoping for some full moon action action! Plus there is a low presure front in town. Come on out, little boy! I probably have at least another week to go, but I was 2 cm dilated and 30% effaced last week.

The full moon this month is Guru Purnima- a Hindu holiday.

"Have a new angle of vision. Behold the entire universe as the form of the Guru. See the guiding hand, the awakening voice, the illuminating touch of the Guru in every object in this creation. The whole world will now stand transformed before your changed vision. The world as Guru will reveal all the precious secrets of life to you, and bestow wisdom upon you. The supreme Guru, as manifested in visible nature, will teach you the most valuable lessons of life.

The moon shines by reflecting the dazzling light of the sun. It is the full moon on the Purnima day that reflects in full splendour the glorious light of the sun. It glorifies the sun. Purify yourself through the fire of selfless service and Sadhana, and like the full moon, reflect the glorious light of the Self. Become the full reflectors of splendour, the light of lights. Make this your goal: “I will be a living witness to divinity, the brilliant Sun of suns!"

Happy Full Moon/ Guru Purnima ladies!

The Guru Purnima quote is really beautiful, thank you!

I'm due Aug 4th, but have had what feels like bad menstrual-like cramps for the past few nights (I don't know if this means anything). I have a feeling baby will be here sooner than due date, but who ever really knows. I keep driving myself a little crazy though thinking every day could be the day!
