Blood/ER visit, Input please!!

This afternoon I was walking in the living room and it felt as though I was urining but I quickly found out it was blood. I called the midwife and she told me to go into emergency which I did, it was a constant drip and I had not had sex or done anything to irriate anything. So, they hooked me up to the monitor and baby's heartones looked excellent, they gave me a vag. exam, etc. They came to the conclusion the baby looked great but as far as the bleeding they did not know. They discharged me, told me to check with my midwife as far as what to do next. I am also not having any contractions. Oh, I will be 37 weeks tomorrow.

My midwife thinks I could be going into labor. My stomach is almost like diarhea and I have a slight headache. I am still bloody when I wipe. The baby's movements are frequent and strong.

What does everyone else think??? I am really confused by the blood, if this continues I will most likely have to go back to the ER, right???

are you still bleeding? is it tapering off?

i bled sunday, but it was after dtd. still, it was bright red and i even passed a couple very small clots. i continued to spot over a period of a few hours, and then it tapered off and then stopped. i wasn't too concerned, but a few MDCers thought i should get it checked, so i called my ob at the hospital. he said bleeding was normal this late in the game unless it was severe or didn't stop. he said it was most likely just my cervix dilating causing capilaries to burst.

if you are still bleeding by the morning, i would call the hospital and ask about it, but other than that i wouldn't worry, especially if the baby is moving a lot.

did they look at the placenta via U/S? how far dilated are you?

Yes, she said everything looked okay with the placenta. Baby is also now head down. (Was breech a couple days ago) She said I was opened a finger tip.

Same thing happened to me last Sunday. About 2 pads of blood at 37 weeks. No problems with placenta or baby but 3 cm dilated. On Monday I passed something that I think looks like a polip, ObGyn thinks that could the cause of the bleeding. That it got loose due to dialation. After that I didn't bleed anymore.

Thanks for the concern, ladies! Everything seems to be back to normal. Bleeding stopped on Monday...it was mostly just spotting after the hospital visit. Midwife says she thinks it has something to do with the placenta and sometimes it can leak blood??!? I can't even remember what she called it now... but she said not to worry...but she always says that!!

I am just a lil tired and trying to take it more easy, more then normal.
