what's wrong with hemp oil?

I once read in a WAPF pamphlet that hemp oil was on the "do not eat" list. Everything I've read about hemp has always been super positive, saying that it contains the perfect balance of omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids and is therefore more easily assimilable than fish or flax oil. So what is the reasoning behind its inclusion on the no list?

My only guess would be that like all vegetable oils, it goes rancid very quickly, pretty much as soon as it's extracted.

I have used hemp oil. I like it. I live in the Canadian prairies, so I have pretty easy access to it.

I think that the worry is that it is like soy. It is an unknown for a food substance. A previous industrial crop with a new use. Like canola or soy.

The oil is not good for cooking. It does go rancid pretty quick.

However, I still like it for some things. Don't buy big bottles. Store in the fridge.

It is nice on potatoes. It is delicious shaken with balsamic vinegar on salad or as a dip for foccacia (sp?).
