Holiday gift-making

Thinking ahead (for me it's Christmas), I wanted to make the majority of the gifts I am giving away. I thought we could share ideas for homemade gifts!

My ideas are:

-knitted things
-making up masala dabbas (round spice tins inside a larger tin) and recipe books for my cooking friends
-bath salts, bath bombs

So far that is it. More ideas?

I'm going to do gift baskets. I bought the baskets on sale after christmas last year, so I have them already.

Things I'm thinking for the baskets:

- Handmade ornament (I'm thinking felt xmas trees)
- Canned stuff - applesauce or jams maybe (never made jams before though)
- Various homemade treats (fudge, cookies, etc - will decide later)

Last year I knitted fashion scarves and they were so easy (used big needles) and went over big and I had just taught myself knitting in November. Most of the yarn I bought on clearance, so they cost between $5-10 a scarf. I think I'll make everyone some again this year.

I spy bags for the kids (just look up 'i spy bag' and you'll see what I'm talking about)

Picture albums for grandparents
Aprons for the cooks.
Those little cell phone holders - the kind that lets you clip your cell phone to the bag strap or somtehing so you can easily find it in your purse. Either knitted or sewn.

Really should get started soon!
