I woke up this morning at 6:25 to pee, went back to bed and had a severe ctx at 6:40. Baby was born at 8:25! 1 hr, 45 min labor, instense! The midwife made it with 10 miinutes to spare. I'm TIRED.

Baby doesn't have a name yet though we have an idea what he'll be called.
8 pounds even
no tearing, 10 apgar
13.75 inch head
20 inches long

I'll post pics later, I need to sleep and get some Advil. :

BTW, homebirths ROCK! Highly recommended.

Wonderful News!!! I have been thinking about you since I had Orion and hoping you would be next. I live about 30 minutes away from you and my father lives in Martinez.

Best to you and your family.

Thank you all!

Ashersmum - No, we decided against Jasper, but have another first name picked out, we think. When we decide we're definitely settling on it or not, I'll update. Poor kid, I hope he can deal with the name.

Redhot - Oh you live close! I love the name Orion and would have chosen that name if my DH would've agreed to it. It's beautiful.

I'm bored laying around and the midwives INSIST I lay in bed for 2 whole, long weeks! This is going to be torture. I've had 3 babies in 3 years though so they claim I could really do long-term damage if I don't follow orders. I bet I last a week.

congratulations!!!

TWO WEEKS?? OMG I'd go crazy!!!!!

So I just realized that your little guy must have flipped from posterior o his own as well, huh?

Yeah, he flipped while in labor. I could feel him wiggle himself over and my back felt like it was splitting in two. Luckily DH kept up a constant pressure on my back or OMG, the pain!

Congrats on your birth, Panthira! Sounds really intense, and amazing how one finds the inner strength to deal, eh? Hope you are feeling well now and enjoying your babymoon!
