Man, I need to take lessons from you. I *still* haven't figured out how to NAK.

i am a pro at nak... it is just one handed typing - not really using caps and very little punctuation...it is easy when they are this little - it gets much harder as they get squirmy and start kicking the keyboard...

CONGRATS, Bethany!!!!

with the help of a boppy, I got very adept at NAK with TWO hands last time.

NAK = nursing at the keyboard. Bethany is one of our bfar (breastfeeding after reduction) mamas.

Thanks Nic, I always get it in my head that there is some secret to these things, like being bopped or whatever it is! Well, that is great after a reduction and now I know what bfar is as well

nak, I have to put the keyboard up off the keyboard tray, otherwise Sophia kicks at it too much. Right now she's reaching wither her left hand and left leg trying to get at it. She's so funny.

Thanks! I have to use a boppy when we're really going for the good stuff, but when he's just nursing to get to sleep (I've NEVER done that before, letting my kids nurse themselves to sleep.....) it's not so hard. And he actually got his best ever session today while I was at the computer, I think he was at a different angle and I could hear him gulping and swallowing and even a few times having a hard time keeping up with the flow. Believe me, I was really excited about that! I'm supp'ing with formula every few feedings, and I do think he needs it b/c without, he's not peeing nearly enough. But we've had 2 huge bf poops today, and I know the formula supp'ing will reduce the number of poops he has, so that seems good to me. Doing a bf clinic visit this week, maybe tomorrow or Tues and I'll find out how much weight he's lost or gained.

... Is it bad that i've found out putting a pillow on the desk and DH on top of the pillow puts her at a perfect height to NAK... and I still have both hands?

I feel so computer-addicted! I bet if DH saw me he would have a laughing fit!

Hahaha!! Not in your ddc but this thread made me chuckle!! Big Congrats mama!!!!

i got the chills and started to cry when i read your post!!! i'm so excited for you! you might be doing this already, but... on the times that you supplement with formula, let him nurse first, so your body knows to up the flow, then supplement. (best advice given to me by a nurse after dd1's birth- we had preemie issues)

riaketty~ that's too funny!!!
