I've posted a few times on MDC about a scholarly project I'm undertaking to map the regulations, laws, and politics of midwifery in America. I'm interviewing midwives, moms who have had homebirths with midwives, and moms who have had unassited homebirths, and writing a series of articles and a book that discusses the barriers to practice that midwives face.
I am going to be in Missouri (Columbia) visiting my family and attending the Jefferson City rally put on by FOMM, from Aug 1 - Aug 7. I'd really like the chance to meet with, interview, and talk to, midwives and other birth professionals practicing (or considering practicing) in Missouri.
