Protecting hardwood floors from budding furniture movers?

My kids loves to move the furniture around in our house (w/hardwood floors) and it's driving me crazy, not to mention scratching the floors. I know there are pads that exist that you can put on the bottom to keep them from sliding so easily, but there are so many that I was hoping to have a recommendation from someone. I would love to be able to keep our furniture in one place. Thanks!

you can buy felt pads that stick to the bottom of your furniture. they come in already cut shapes and in big rectangles you can cut yourself.

I'm trying felt booties for the furniture legs that I whipped up out of a square of felt and a heavy duty rubber band. Not the most attractive solution in the world, but 1) cheap, and 2) so far so good in preventing scratches.

We also use felt pads to protect our bamboo but I do have to clean them occasionally because they pick up cat hair and bits of grit that can then scratch.

I bought the big felt squares and cut to size. I felted everything, heavily (dh thinks I went overboard). Doesn't stop the couches from sliding when the kids jump, but it seams to do a good job protecting from scratches. I figure I'll have to replace it every so often (more often on chairs, ottoman that we move more).

For furniture that needs to move we use the felt patches but for heavier non-moving furniture (like the couch) we use big rubber feet that seem to grip the floor well. You can sometimes find them at Target but almost always at Home Depot. I hate the box stores but sometimes you need them I guess!
