"bounce free" dryer sheets

sigh...advice needed:

my family (me, DH & 7 month old baby) is currently staying with my mom (since last week) while we're preparing to move in to our own house. we'll probably be here in her house one more month.

My mom is really nice, but she is driving me crazy with all these chemical cleaners all over the place. I have always used Seventh Generation and stuff like that, but I never did any research as to why, I just instinctively felt that the conventional cleaning products were toxic. So I tell her not to use chemicals, and not to drink 12 Diet Cokes all day from morning to night, and not eat the non-organic crap she eats, etc.., but I don't know what I'm talking about specifically so I'm not doing a good job of convincing her.

For example, she went grocery shopping with me to the natural store, and I did convince her to buy some beautiful organic strawberries. YAY right? So today I saw that she had washed them and cut them and they were in a bowl in the fridge. I said thanks I can't wait to try them! She said "Oh I also covered them with this to make them taste better" and holds up packages of Sweet n Low. WTF. WTF on so many levels.

Here's where I'd like advice if anyone can help:

I asked if I could throw a couple of cloth diapers into her load of laundry tonight. She said yes, but I'm using TIDE. I said, well can you just use the Seventh Generation so I can put my diapers in there? She said yes. When I get the diapers out of the dryer they have these dryer sheets stuck all over them. I ask her, next time if the baby's stuff is in there can you please not use the dryer sheets, I think they are made with chemicals? (again I don't really know what I'm talking about but I feel pretty sure about it) She said, "they are NOT made with chemicals, it's called Bounce Free". I said, "that doesn't necessarily mean there are no chemicals". She is now so sick of hearing about chemicals all the time that she got really annoyed. The package of Bounce Free has no ingredient list on it. I don't even know where to begin researching, but I really want to be able to tell her more information than that I just instinctively feel that it's true.

Can anyone help me with information about Bounce Free? How do I find out exactly what's in it and how toxic it is? I want to finally be armed with some real information!

I think dryer sheets are a bad idea with cloth diapers--they can make them repel and then leak. Even the residue in the dryer can cause trouble in your diapers. Leaky diapers ought to be enough to dissuade her from using them while you're there.

The other main reason I dislike dryer sheets is because they are made with animal tallow, and I'm vegan. I don't much like the idea of coating my clothes with animal fats. Bleech!

I agree, I wouldnt be so worried with the chemical aspect in those sheets at that moment as I would have been with the fact that the fabric softner can make the cloth repel. I went nuts at my dh and fil when they both put dryer sheets in with the cloth when we were using them. (thankfully it was just some prefolds, so a few strips and they were normal again):
