Any ideas on getting rid of glue residue from tub decals?

In the process of cleaning up the house that we're moving into (which has had almost no updates since the early 60's ), we wanted to remove the ever-so-unattractive flower decals from the floor of the porcelain bathtub. Some family members were over helping with the cleaning, and one of them took that task. She was able to get the decals off with a razorblade, but now the glue from the decals is still there. Any ideas on getting it off?

maybe some mineral oil? add some baking soda for some abrasion...
if that doesn't work you could try lighter fluid

gah! i know!! harsh harsh harsh! and totally not natural but it works.....!
