Plastic melted onto stove, how do I get it off?

In a moment of stupidity I placed a plastic pitcher of tea onto a hot burner. The bottom melted onto the burner. How do I get it off? It is one of those flat electric stoves that wipes down easily. Should I just scrape it off??

For the love of God, don't pull on it!

*Someone* accidentally melted the end of a spatula to our stove. DH kept yanking on it and it came off with a chip of the stove! :

If I could have done it over again, I would have turned the burner on low and the second it started getting oozing, I would have started scraping it off with something non scratchy.

Or better yet, called the company to find out what to do.

Good luck.

I could try that. I just don't want to hurt the stove!
