Nearly constant back ache?

ok, so Bray and I went to eat some hot wings a couple hours ago... I came home, had some bowel issues and now my back is in a near constant achey state... It does relieve itself, for about a mintute or two, before it wrenches up again... IS THIS A CONTRACTION?

It's not like terribly painful and I would actually say it's only a bit uncomfortable at this point, but I'm not real sure what I should be looking for?

What do you guys think?

I don't know enough to be any help to you except to say "ME TOO" and that I hope it's a sign of labor-y goodness.

It could be back labor. It looks like it could be time....:

Definitely could be back labor. I had the exact thing you described with dd1 for about a day before I went into real labor. Good luck!

In my VERY limited opinion: sounds like contraction. None of mine were hurting, so I had been telling the MW that I was not having any BH contractions, then when I hooked up to the monitor I could see them and correlate them to what I had been describing as just some tightness. I guess next time around we will have a better idea I hope the ache goes away, have you tried spending some time doing pelvic rocking on your hands and knees or leaning over a birth ball? That helped me. Good luck- hopefully baby is on it's way

I forget what they call it but the babies head is probably pressing on your spine. That is what causes back labor from what I have read. Do some hands and knees and sit on a birthball if you have one and see if baby will turn a bit and relieve the pressure back there.

Hmmm - did this turn into anything more Alayna?? Sounds suspiciously like the beginning of labor to me, too! I sure hope it was!

Well, if it's labor, it's going to be a long day!!! I was actually able to get some relief when I laid down to go to bed last night, as far as the nearly CONSTANT back ache, but I could still feel contractions all night long, in my sleep... obviously they weren't bad enough to keep me awake, but they were definately there... I timed them for a little bit this morning and they're coming every 3-9 minutes apart, lasting about 1-1.5 minutes when I'm paying attention, but they're not HARD at all, so I'm just trying to ignore them until they take my attention away...

MW appt at 10:15 this morning, so I'll update them then... I do think baby will be here within the next couple days, hopefully before midnight!! Today is my official due date and I've *really* wanted the 07.31.07 birthdate since the beginning!

We'll see where this goes!

eta: I meant to say that they have changed over the course of the night, starting to come around front and tighten my belly as well as my back... So that's gotta be progress, right? They're just not really what I would consider *painful*... and they're not all just alike, either... some of them are strictly an ache in my back...some pull around front and tighten my belly...some are just menstrual like cramps... and they're usually in combination, to where it feels like there is always *something* going on down there, nearly constant discomfort, yk?

Well if there is 1 thing that I have learned through this whole thing is that there really isn't a textbook pattern, just averages.
My ctx were still only 5 or so minutes apart and the midwives were thinking about leaving for dinner and when I stood up my water broke and he was born 11 minutes later.
My point is that you don't want to just get it in your head the amount of time between and even how long they last cause if you read through everyone's stories there are very few that went "textbook".
Good luck today!!!

Dreamer, I'm having very similar discomfort. Not really what I would associate with back labor (I know my bebe was anterior yesterday at my appt.) but very menstrual tension-like. And there is always some crampiness going on though at times, it does peak and flow then ebb. I usually lose a big chunk of bloody show after one of the more painful crampy sessions.

I'm so hoping that I at least start the real deal labor in the next day or so. All of this has GOT to be a good sign, I hope!
