Refresh my memory--when can you hear the hb?

I have my first appt. next Tuesday--I'll be exactly 7 weeks. Is that too early for a heart-beat? I can't remember if we got to hear dd's the first time around (at 8 weeks). I need some reassurance. Some days I feel awful and pregnant, other days I feel just dandy. I hate to say this (b/c I know it'll backfire) but I really wish I could just have consistent symptoms. Some days I'm nauseous and sensitive to smells, other days I'm not. My temps have stayed up and even climbed a bit this past week. I'm sure it's all fine and I should just be thankful that I'm getting a little break here. From what I hear on the boards, things really start picking up around the 6-7 week mark. Perhaps I should watch what I wish for, eh?

Between 10-12 weeks for most women. 7 weeks would be too early to hear via doppler, but you would be able to see the heartbeat on ultrasound.

Thanks.

Yah, I just remembered that we had an 8-wk. ultrasound for dating the first time around. I'm sure that's why I was thinking that I'd get to hear a little heart-beat. I may have to ask for something similar this time around.

I have a retroverted uterus, so I hear it late. We couldn't hear it at my 10 week appt with ds but did at the 14, we heard it at my 12 with dd.
