well the title pretty much says it all, my 9.5 month old has just recently started sleeping muuuuuch longer stretches at night, and AF has not yet returned, nut i have noticed that the past few times i went to the restroom the CM was in that egg-white-ish stage. could i be ovulating w/o AF? obviously if this is my first pp af coming up, that would make sense, but is it possible or even likely that i am ovulating and not having a period?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

No, if you ovulate, then you MUST have a period (unless you get pregnant). But you can have AF without ovulating (anovulation). If your ovulating now you can expect an period in a couple weeks. Sometimes your body can gear up to ovulate several times and never actually ovulate. This is pretty common while breastfeeding. You could take your bbt and then that would confirm ovulation had taken place.

I read the original question as "can I ovulate before my first pp af", and to that the answer is yes. I guess to find out if the CM means ovulation you can either take your basal body temp or you can wait a couple weeks- if you're not pregnant and haven't had your period, then it wasn't ovulation.
