Summer '07 twins thread? - Page 2

Getting out of the house

It is really hard to get out of the house with two tiny nursing babies. When they were tiny, I found it easiest to always pack a sling they could nurse in and a bottle (of EBM, if possible) for the other baby. Most of the time, I didn't need to use the bottle (I usually had to switch who was in the sling so both ended up nursing), but for the few times they were both hungry at once, it was a lifesaver.

Also, using the sling was helpful in another way: many people didn't process the fact that I had twins if one was in the sling (I got this idea from the multiples forum before my twins were born), so they didn't stop us. Plus, it allowed me to use only one cart in the grocery store.

Of course, you might not want to disguise the fact that you have twins some days. Another twin mom once told me, "Some days I liked to dress them up and take them to the mall and hear people say, "Wow, I don't know how you do it."

yes! It is really hard to get out of the house with 2 tiny nursing babies. I am still scared to go out by myself with all my kids.

I do carry one in the sling and keep one in the carseat when we're out and I agree that most people don't process that there is 2. I can understand wanting to show them off occasionally though.

We have had quite the week with the boys. One does better the other one gets worse. Its like they plan to scare mommy.
