Shooting pains in the vaginia - Yep. I am getting these. My midwife was not as encouraging as everyone elses. I hinted that I hoped it might be the cervix opening and stretching. She laughed and said, "nope, what happens is the baby's head is all settled inside the pelvis and so when he moves, he hits a nerve which results in shooting pain. Cervix changes feel more crampy". Blah, I've turned down all VEs so far so I have no idea what's really going on down there. I did try to feel for my cervix yesterday but couldn't find it. So I am guessing is it still very high and anterior.
Julia - Yeah, I HATE getting out of bed the preggo way. You do feel like a total invalid. Just know that soon enough you will BE an invalid (now that I am 37 weeks, that is actually the ONLY way I can get out of bed!Blah. I am so heavy and swollen that my mobility/flexibility is severely limited). Glad to hear you are giving your stomach muscles a break.
Hooray for only 4 more shows! You can do it (and hopefully the POTO will no longer be "here, inside my mind"
)
Elizabeth - Re: slings, I ended up purchasing a hotsling in the sateen fabric (gives it a little shine & stretch) AND a Gypsy Mama Bali Baby Stretch (like a Moby wrap, but the fabric is lighter and more appropriate for warmer climates/weather). DH has a Baby Bjorn Air carrier (whatever - as long as he wears the baby I will be happy). I also really want a ring sling, but haven't decided on brand or fabric.
Becky - I can't believe I am "fullterm"! OMG. Of course then I look in the mirror and think, how can I NOT be fullterm. I still have one daycare interview and our pediatrician interviews (I scheduled 4 - yes, I am a bit obsessive about the whole thing) next week PLUS DH will be out of town Tuesday-Thursday AND I have a wonderful friend from college visiting next weekend so the baby needs to stay put until the 19th. I am pretty sure he can do it, just means that I need to hang in there as well.
I can't believe you are moving at this stage. I am pretty useless and I think DH would kill me if we were supposed to be moving (I mean seriously, just driving my car gives me BH. I can't imagine actually packing boxing and moving crap around!). Good luck Becky, I know it will feel great once you are settled into the new place!
Natalia - Ha! Stop playing all innocent ("I don't know what meth is officer!") Remember last winter when we played the lie, lie, truth game? You've had your run-ins with the cops
On a more serious note - your white tongue may be a yeast infection. I don't think it will kill you, but I'd definitely get it checked out on Monday.
ETA - Group B Strep is a normal bacteria that occupy the digestive tract. In the US preggo women are screened for the presence of GBS in the vaginia and rectum. If the bacteria are found, those women are typically administered IV antibiotics during labor to reduce the chances of transmitting the bacteria to the baby. Apparently, the chances of transmitting the bacteria are very small, but if the baby does get it, it can die (so living in lawsuit happy USA, docs would MUCH rather do everything they can to prevent). In Europe, GBS is treated on if the babe shows signs of infection. HTHs

Well, I don't think of it as slacking, but realistically putting it on hold when I have to. Now, of course, it's hard to get back into it. Humanities dissertations seem way more amorphous... I don't think I have what you'd call a "method" section, exactly.

"here inside my mind" ... you must know the show then? I'm sure the music will stay "here inside my mind" until we start working on some new stuff, but at least I don't have to go to work for a while. It will fade in time. Stay, baby, stay! No coming out yet! People keep telling me first babies tend to come late, after the due date.
