I've been making bread for a couple of months now and when it's done I wrap it in a towel. Sometimes I keep it in the oven or just on the countertop. But it always gets hard on the outside. The inside is still pretty moist, but not as much as I'd like and the outside is hard. Is that supposed to happen? Where do you keep your bread?

This book feels good in your hands. The paper is heavyweight, and the illustrations flow perfectly.

I want a wood or bark bread box. They are supposed to keep bread better.
Aside from that we had to keep bread in a paper bag that was inside a plastic bag when we used to live near the Great Lakes which was very humid in the summer and dry in the winter. (Truthfully, my kids loved the artisan spelt sourdough baked in a hearthstone oven that we used to get at the farmers' market. The loaves were a little smaller and it didn't usually last more than 2 or 3 days
)
We haven't found anything like that here and I am still working on making my own.
