anyone else still without a name - Page 2

We quit trying to find one. We're going to call this baby, #2 or "hey you" until it's old enough to pick it's own name.

Mom22girls and PiePie -

Thank you for the suggestions! Claire is actually a name we have considered. I think it's really pretty and I like the meaning, but darn if it doesn't always remind me of Molly Rigwald's character from The Breakfast Club. Funny how names trigger memories like that. Trista is also pretty. BUT, I think we just decided on a name!!! I have an old friend that was in my life for a short time but that I have lost contact with. She is one of those completely unique people that come into your life, inspire you in some way, and then fade away. There were things she taught me just by being herself that have made me a better person. So, I looked up the meaning of her name, and, lo and behold! It is an old Gealic name that mean "Hawk." My dh is a biologist that specializes in birds (not an ornithologist really because he doesn't have a PhD). So, he thinks the name is way cool. Soooo, I think it's decided that her name will be Luna Shea. I really like it and it's the first name that has had meaning for us both and doesn't sound corny. Since Luna means moon, some names just sounded silly next to it. We were going to name her Luna Flor (after my grandma and sister) but moon flower was just silly. Maybe moon hawk is silly as well. But, that's her name, dagnabit! I'm just glad we settled on something.

Yeah, no name here either. My dilema is that my husband has no interest what so ever in this baby, so I think I have come to teh conclusion that I will name her myself, and he can just suck it up at this point. He has had 9 months to get used to, or over it or whatever he needed to do, and if he's not there yet, than it's not my problem. I'm filling out the BC info anyway...

I've completely stopped asking dh because he keeps saying "Tammy" just to bug me.

Walden's Momma, I LOVE Luna Shea!

We have a girls name, but are totally stuck on a boys name. My DH loves Eldon, and I've tried really hard to seriously consider it, but it just hasn't grown on me. Who knows if it is a baby boy maybe I will look into his face and just know he is an Eldon.

Or you'll have a girl and not have to worry bout it.

I say go for it. Name the baby yourself. What choice is he giving you anyway? If you ask me, he's the one who is missing out.

We've got a couple of names, boy and girl, but are still open to other possibilities. No middle names yet, and no last name decided yet (HisName-MyName, MyName-HisName, etc are contendors - we'll pick it to work well with the first name I guess). We are having a Baby Anticipation Mimosa Brunch In Our House (BAMBINOH ) party on Sunday, where we will have a name-the-baby game to see what comes up, as well as voting on the last name.

Shortlist includes
- Finn (boy)
- Sinead (girl)
- Jasmine (new today!)

For middle names I would like something like Fire, Rain, River... anyone got suggestions in that vein?

Your post made me jump - I was reading thinking, my little girl's name means hawk in gaelic, and it's SHEA!!! It will be Shea Clare. By the way, don't tell your dh, but it can also be translated as "being from the fairies" or the sidhe (pronounced sheed - as in banshee which means woman fairy).

Wow....

How cool is that? We must be riding the same wave. I went ahead and told dh the other meaning, and he smiled and nodded his head. I think he likes it either way. I think that's awesome that our girls will share a name!

Yeah, this is about where I am too! I got this cute little notebook at the beginning of the pregnancy and labelled it "baby names" and I just found it the other day in a purse I haven't used in a while... Haven't listed anything in some months!

Hubby just came up with a boys name that I'm not so sure about. We have one girls name we like, first + middle (named for a grandma & great-grandma) but after that, it's pretty much just some random things we are tossing around. It is so hard to take on the responsibility of naming a new being! I definitely feel that we need to meet him/her first. Hubby just told me that he met a couple that didn't nail down the baby's name until it was a year old!! I'm hoping not to go quite that far with it, but I can't add that stress to the rest of the stress I'm feeling right now!

So we might just name the baby after the cat. Kitters.

That's a great idea! DH just doesn't like the names I like. We can't agree.
