I think most companies don't make them with padding since they are use mostly in water and the padding would get all soggy and moldy after awhile. The material is pretty soft, though, you don't really need it
I wonder if I can just make one then. I'll check out the fabric at Johanns to see what it's like. I just love having the padded rail for hip carry, we won't be using it in the water.
I have both padded and unpadded pouches including an unpadded solarveil - you really don't need the padding with it. With cotton slings the padding is nice, but with stretchy fabrics like fleece and solarveil it isn't really necessary .
