I WANT to be done~thread

Thread Starter
I had contractions on Sunday for 7 hrs and then they went away. Since then, my hand and legs have ballooned up, I can't walk, my hip feels like its been dislocated.

I want to be done! And my DH agrees.

Who else is with me?!

Oh, can I play???????

Me, me, me!!!

Actually, I shouldn't complain... I'm now officially on maternity leave, and had my mother come up today to help me clean my entire house... so other than laundry and upkeep, I actually have TIME! I even watched 30 minutes of TV today! That NEVER happens, because I usually feel too guilty with everything that needs done.

But, even with time... I'm thinking next week would be a perfect time to have a baby

We share a due date, and I'm totally with you! I want her to come NOW. But I guess she has other plans. Funny, I remembered your post about waiting for the pain to start and I actually repeated it to my best friend on the phone today. I feel the same way. I keep waiting for the BH CTX to start hurting so I can feel like something is really happening. I'm so annoyed with these painless contractions. I just want to get on with it, ya know?

I actually feel a little lightheaded this evening. But, I'm probably just a little dehydrated. I have only had about half of the water I usually drink tonight.

I just want the baby to come before my doctor tries to force me into an induction.

My sentiments exactly! That's my biggest worry.

This morning I asked Lucas to come up with a spell to bring out the baby (thinking of Harry Potter). So far it isn't working.

I have a doc appt today (shadow care; planned homebirth). I'm very nervous - I've been researching postdates and postmaturity ever since I got up this morning in preparation for this appointment. I'm 41w5d today. I know this is NOT going to be fun. :

i feel you! i'm planning on not even going to my appointment on monday (that puts me at a whole DAY late *gasp*..) because my OB is trying to say i HAVE to have a PE. and i'm like uh yeah no i don't. then if i let him for the heck of it, i certainly wouldn't put it past him to strip my membranes without asking or even TELLING for that matter. i'm surprised he didn't just try to schedule an induction on monday..

No labor for me yet. But that might be a good thing if it takes a couple more days. My dd and my doula both woke up with colds yesterday. :

Can't have a newborn around a bunch of sick people - sheesh!

walden's momma, my mom's been sick for like 2 weeks and has been telling me "not yet not yet".. and then she came to the realization that when i had DD1 she was sick then too so she chaged her mind and said i'm allowed to have her anytime. haha. she's planning on sleeping in the room with me, but i told her if for some reason she has to leave i won't hold it against her and i don't want the baby to think that she has to work around my mom's schedule. haha

Yup, done. Had my 40w appt today. I really thought I'd be through by now. Not sure why but 'had that feeling' (wishfull thinking). I feel the same way about sitting around waiting for the pain to begin. I'm pretty crampy right now and they said I was finally dialated to 1! I realize this means little to nothing but at least it feels like things are starting to go in the right direction.

Everyone in my family is starting to tell me when it'd be good for them too. My SIL's got to work all next week, MIL will be gone this weekend, Mom is working today and tomorrow morning, DH is working through the weekend.... but of course they'll all drop what they're doing and come when baby tells them too. I'm hoping today, tomorrow or Sunday. But its just the same wishfull thinking.

Oh, I am so with you all! And I feel like I need to hide so I don't have to keep answering the questions about why I haven't had the baby yet. I can't tell you how many people have said, "Oh, so you're at your due date--does that mean they'll induce?" like it's an automatic thing and no big deal. Grrrr.

There are a lot of accupuncturists in this area who had good success inducing. If I approach 42 weeks and start to get any pressure around inducing, I might try that. Anyone else?

I had a reflexologist appointment tonight. My OB recommended! She said she's got about an 80% success rate.

It was an hour session - a little painful at times, but she says the magic is, at least in part, in the pervasive relaxation that results. Indeed, three hours later and I feel... interesting. I feel mellow and relaxed, with a low-key energy. I've been having some nice contractions, but I tend to do that this time of night anyway lately. She said if it's going to induce anything, it will probably take 8-10 hours. <crossing fingers> but not expecting anything. If it didn't "take," we'll schedule another session on Monday...

That's a great idea! I'm going to make some phone calls about that!
