Ovulating without high temps?

So I just got my second PP AF all of an hour ago. I had fertile-looking CM 17 days ago. The way the day worked out, I didn't take my bbt, I took my temp in the mid afternoon after I noticed the CM, and that was consderably higher (37 degrees celcius-- just hits the upper thick line) but the next day it dropped right back down to normal. Does that mean I only ovulated that one day? or can you ovulate without elevated temps? or can you have stringy CM without ovulating?

Thanks- I'm only half way through TCOYF, so I dont' have all my facts straight yet.

Taking your temp in the afternoon wouldn't give you a "basal" body temp. It would probably just be your normal temperature. So throw that temp out.

You should be able to tell if you ovulated by seeing a thermal shift on your chart. That means the first part of your cycle is in one temperature range, then after you ovulate the temperature goes up a little and stays that way for the second half of your cycle.

Check out Fertility Friend and look at some of the charts that show ovulation. You'll be able to see the thermal shift on those.
