I'm officially 42 weeks today!! Typing through contractions.....
So...I had two rounds of acupuncture (Wed, and Thurs), but nothing really happened.
Today, I saw my midwife at 1pm. She tried to strip my membranes, but she couldn't reach! We decided that we should go for a Biophysical Profile. Since we had to wait until 5pm for the hospital to not be super busy, my midwife highly suggested castor oil. I grabbed a burrito, some mac and cheese, and a gatorade (pictures of this are actually quite amusing), and chased gulps of castor BLEH! oil. IT WAS HORRRRIBLE (but I have to say, not as bad as I thought. fyi if you haven't done this and have to, mix it in a smoothie or something. it's the texture that's barfable not the taste). That produced no immediate effects.
Anyhow, we went to the hospital about 5pm and were in there until 8pm grr...
Baby looked great, fluid was appropriately low but not alarmingly, and though I felt no more than menstrual-like cramps for the past 3 weeks, they measured regular contractions every 2-3minutes.
When we were done, they gave us a speech about why we should check-in right now and induce. We kindly told them we would think about it. Right about that time, I started feeling contractions...like a rubber band around my lower uterus ahhh....Just after that, I began feeling the ugh much more painful pangs of diarrhea gas ugh.... We know some people in the hospital, so we hung out for a couple more minutes, but then I just had to get to a toilet and I didn't want it to be a hospital toilet. My sweet husband rushed me home. I think you can guess the next step (sorry tmi!!)
Anyway, that's it for now. I'm timing them here on the computer OUCH...I'll let you know what happens next!! Wish us luck!
