Weird Science
Uncle Buck
Lost Boys
Can't Buy Me Love
It's not John Hughes, but in the same vein...

Adventures in Babysitting!

(Of course, I'm probably the only one who watches it and says, "LOVE her hair!" )

Oh, and that makes me think of Cocktail! Really bad movie, but fun!

I have to say, though, that I rented St. Elmo's Fire a couple of years ago and just found it depressing. I loved it at the time, particularly the music.

Lost my post somewhere..

I used to really like Waterworld, but all the jokes at Alaskans expense now just grate on my nerves...

Also from Kevin Costner (that I secretly enjoy)- Postman (I think is its name)

Shag. When Phoebe Cates says to the hot guy, who never made another movie:

"You don't know me, you don't love me, you sure as hell don't want to marry me...so why don't you just leave me alone..." and then they make out...swoony!

Plus Bridget Fonda doing interpretive dance to DIXIE and Annabeth Gish and Buzz Ravenel in the shag contest!

Awesome!

Ok, I thought of a few more that I would NEVER admit to anyone IRL:

Rock Star
Heartbreakers
Practical Magic

I would own them on dvd if I wasn't afraid of someone looking through my collection and seeing them and deciding I am not cool enough to be friends with anymore.

Hmm... there are a lot movies listed here that are not at all bad, IMHO. For example, "Mean Girls"- Tina Fey wrote this movie! Tina Fey! She's a genius! Thus making it okay to watch, even tho' Lindsay Lohan is in it.

However, when I think of Dirty Dancing, the Cutting Edge, and Striptease, I think only of the hours of my life that I will never get back. I actually thought that Showgirls was highbrow after watching Striptease.

My shameful secrets: I liked "Better Off Dead"- such bizarre, goofball 80's comedy, but it somehow worked. "Tango and Cash" was great, too.

OK, I love heartbreakers too! I wasn't going to say anything, though. :

What movie was it where a bunch of teenagers start getting killed and it is supposedly a bunch of suicides?.. Ahh, Heathers..

I also liked/but really it was more of a "was mystified by" Virgin Suicides, but I can't pinpoint why.. it is pretty disturbing..

Oh, and you didn't mention epidemic movies like 28 Days Later, Resident Evil, Resident Evil: Apocalypse, and Shaun of the Dead, but I love those too.

Oh my goodness. I was just telling dh about Night of the Comets. I love that show.

Love all the "end of the world" types too.

I love Point Break...

"I am an F.B.I. agent!!" -one of my favorite movie quotes of all time.

And speaking of Adventures in Babysitting (which I love) how about

Don't Tell Mom the Babysitter's Dead?

which also contains one of my all-time favorite quotes:

"The dishes are done, man."

Oh....How about Lost Boy's. I watched that move so much as a teen that I had the entire thing memorized. My sister and I once acted out the entire thing word for word.

Also, All the Vacation Movies with Chevy Chase,
Funny Farm (again, with Chevy Chase)
Trading Places with Dan Aykroyd and Eddie Murphy
The Great Outdoors, John Candy and Dan Aykroyd

I am known for my lame-o movie selections. And proudly admit it. I will stand behind any of the above movies any day of the week!
