HB here. I've had 3 hospital births. Not this time. Dd's birth was traumatic for all three of us. I've met a wonderful midwife and feel 100% confident about having this baby at home.

Hi Monique! We were expecting together last time!

We were planning a HB last time and ended up with a c/s due to breech and postdates and stupid legal BS....yeah, not very happy with it all. So I plan to move mountains to get my HBAC this time. I am not sure if I want to use my prior MW as she tends to be pretty conservative and I dont want to deal with her stressing DH out. I am interviewing with my friends MW next month. We are in a crappy state legally, but since I have a "prooven" pelvis and no real reason for the last C/S I should be able to find a MW. We'll see. I'll keep you all posted.

I'm leaning strongly towards HB after a hospital birth with DD. She ended up in the NICU for the first 40 hrs of her life due to mild to moderate meconium aspiration. Long labor, 2 hrs. pushing, epidural, episiotomy, vaccum-assist... I just don't want to go there again. We live in a different town/state now than we did then. We have no birth center here, and I work for the hospital, which I think might make it hard for me to buck the system, so to speak. I think it will be a lot easier to have the kind of birth I want in my own home. My parents, who live here and watch DD for us while we both work FT, are my biggest stumbling block right now - they don't know about my HB plans yet but they are absolutely NOT going to be on board. I'm trying to figure out what to do about that, and I need to pick a midwife, but I just don't see myself going the OB/hospital route.

I've had 6 hospital births and 1 homebirth. This will be, Lord Willing, my 2nd homebirth. I really enjoyed the last one, as unusual as it was...this time should go really well.
